Modelling for Crop Protection

In pharmaceutical and innovative crop protection companies, computer-aided approaches are more and more appreciated as effective and efficient filter procedures. Successful examples are found for the selection of compounds offered by external suppliers, the design of compound libraries for experimental high-throughput screening as well as ligand- or structure-based lead optimizations. The presentation will give a brief overview of BASF's research strategies in crop protection, demonstrate the integration of modelling activities in this process, and provide some case studies indicating the usefulness of computational models.
